January 26th was the day that God chose to take Mr. Doolittle home. His memorial services was such an encouragement to me--to live the kind of life the Mr. Doolittle did. One thing that impacted me was the man of prayer that he was. I was one of their campus kids while in college and so he would always send me a regulary email telling me that he had prayed for me that day. I come to find out that he not only did that for his campus kids, but all the faculty and staff were blessed in that respect as well. What an encouragement it was to know that a godly man was praying for me. And now, as was expressed at his funeral, we feel greatly lacking without all his interceding on our behalfs.
Another amazing aspect I found out was that Mr. Doolittle never complained through out his cancer ordeal. Mrs. Doolittle was the witness of how he trusted God till death. It could be that his death impacted more people than his life ever could have.

Doug is Safely Home with His Savior. He was welcomed into his new HOME on January 26, 2007 at 1:44 pm.
God's grace is more than sufficient for us still here.

In lieu of flowers, Doug has chosen to establish an endowment for the Missionary Apprentice Program because of the influence that his MAP experience had on his life. Doug went to Haiti to fulfill his MAP requirement in August of 1984. While in Haiti, Doug stayed with a missionary who had a computer, which was a novelty in that day. Doug quickly took to the computer and was even writing programs for games for the missionary kids. God has greatly used Doug's gift of working with computers for His honor and glory as Doug worked faithfully in the Technology Department at Northland Baptist Bible College beginning in January 2000. With his knowledge of computers, Doug could have made a large amount of money working a secular job but his heart's desire was to use his talents for the Lord and to be able to influence college students with his life. He definitely let his life touch life...in a quiet, strong way. He intended to stay at Northland and work in the Technology Department until retirement.
Continue to pray for Mrs. Doolittle, Lauranne, Wessley, and A.J. The youngest is only 2 years old.
Lauranne who is seven said that her daddy is in heaven with the other three children from previous miscarriages and her mommy is on earth with the other three children.

thanks for posting that april. that is really amazing. we have been praying for their family as often ans they come to our mind... which is often. what a blessing to know he is with Jesus.

On a totally different note... your post was really hard to read b/c of the coloring. It was difficult to see the blue text on the green background. Just a thought...
I was at Northland when Doug was going to school there. I was there for only three semesters but I did play basketball with Doug. I used to look forward to the games that Doug got to play in because I knew I had a good shot of going into the game as well. Usually it was a case when we were either far enough ahead to win or too far behind to win. We would get in for the last few minutes of the game. Doug and I would play as hard as we could to show coach Keith what we could do. We would get funny looks from the opponents because we would be playing so tough when we had no shot of winning. It was a lot of fun. Doug was a good guy. Always willing to help another person out.
