so i'm asking you, what's your advice when you can't sleep? what's the best way to redirect your thoughts to things that are lovely, just, and pure? how can i rest in perfect peace? it's simple right? go to the Word, pray, keep your mind stayed on Him. it's that simple, yet so hard at times!

I KNOW that frustration! Would you believe - with how little sleep I've been getting lately and how tired I am during the day - the other night I was up for 2 hours after feeding Simon at 3am because I couldn't sleep! We've been helping Luke memorize Psalm 121 for Truth Quest (at church) - so I've memorized it again too. It's helpful to have scripture to go over when I can't sleep. :)
Love you! - 4:10 PM

Same here - quote Scripture passages over and over in your head. I find I end up falling asleep while doing that. The verse you mentioned about thinking on things that are lovely, true, pure, etc. has come to my mind numerous times over the years. I used to have such a hard time applying that verse. It seemed that no matter how hard I tried, my thoughts would go to the wrong things, and I couldn't seem to think of things that fell into those categories. Lately God has helped me to realize that He fits into all of those categories and that I can meditate on God Himself.

sleep? what is that? - honestly in between feeding either amos or malachi, i am totally OUT!
but like tristan and katie said, meditate on scripture... maybe use that time and energy to memorize.
love you so much!

Forgive the people who frustrate you. Even if they don't ask forgiveness.

I would just pray. Every time I pray when I hit the pillow, I never finish my prayer. See what I mean? Try reading the Old Testament.
